This wonderful Beluga Whale looks at me from thru the water. I was standing in a boat while he approached and had a close look at me. See the reflections of the clouds in the upper left hand corner. Taken near Churchill on the Hudson Bay.

Naturally curious, beluga whales can occur in large groups called pods. An estimated 25,000 individuals live in the Hudson Bay with the global population estimated to be about 100,000. This is believed to be a fraction of the former population. Most likely due to overhunting.
